Our story

Turn the Page Bookstore opened its doors in July of 1995 in a pre-Civil War townhouse located just off The Square in Boonsboro, Maryland. This independent bookstore is owned and operated by Bruce Wilder, the husband of New York Times bestselling author, Nora Roberts.

From TTP's beginning, Bruce and his staff have taken pride in providing personalized service, a friendly atmosphere, excellent coffee and unique gift items--not to mention the large variety of books in most genres. Turn The Page welcomes locals as well as many customers who visit the Boonsboro area, with its rich Civil War history and easy access to The Appalachian Trail.

With the opening of Inn BoonsBoro On The Square in February of 2009, visitors can elect to extend their visit with a stay in a lovely and historic boutique B&B, browse our next-door-neighbor Gifts Inn BoonsBoro for local arts and crafts, and top it off with a meal at Vesta right on the square, the Italian Restaurant & Pizzeria owned and operated by Nora’s family.

Here at Turn The Page we carry a complete line of Nora Roberts and J.D. Robb titles. If it’s in print, we have it. While we stock a wide selection of signed books, Nora also signs books for us three nights a week. Hardcovers and new releases can be personalized; backlist titles can be signed. We don't just provide this service for our in-store customers, but our internet and telephone customers as well.

Our store also boasts plenty of books and toys in our children's room, from infant through young adult.

Due to Boonsboro's Civil War connection and its proximity to Antietam Battlefield, we offer an extensive Civil War history section. We're also proud to carry books by local authors and an impressive stock of autographed books.

For gifts or just that special treat for yourself, we carry hand-poured soy candles, locally made soaps and body care items, promotional Nora Roberts and J.D. Robb items from coffee mugs to apparel, and photography by Bruce Wilder--and more.

Our unique selection of greeting cards are made from recycled paper, so you can be environmentally responsible while finding a pretty or fun card for any occasion.

The coffee we serve is organic, fair trade and roasted locally at Dublin Roasters in Frederick, Maryland. Come in for a great cup of coffee, a specially espresso drink or a chai tea.

In addition to our Book Clubs and the occasional Girls' Night Out, Turn The Page holds up to seven book signing events every year. The book signings feature Nora Roberts/J.D. Robb and a host of other authors. These events are the highlight of what we do, and all of us love the opportunity to meet readers from all over the country--and often from other countries as well.

Along with Bruce, eight of us work here at TTP. Janeen Solberg, our Manager, arranges all of our events and hosts our Book Clubs. Renee Elias is our Assistant Manager. Part-time employees Beth Rockwell, Jeannie King, Renne' Wade, Ana Solberg, Kim Specht and Kim Payne handle our shipping operation and help keep things running smoothly.

We hope you'll come see us--or give us a call, check out our website. We'd love to help you find just what you're looking for at Turn the Page.
